Buick Enspire is to be based on Cadillac XT4 plaform

There is a possibility that the new Buick CUV, named the "Enspire", will be based on the same Cadillac XT$ platform:

For now it may be an exclusive model for China, which is Buick's largest market. And an EV version may be in the works, too.

This might be what Buick needs to finally be on a level that Lincoln and even Chrysler have been slowly getting towards. Its hard not to notice how nice the new Pacifica and Lincoln Navigator are in the segments they compete in. If it actually comes to market looking like this, Buick will see similar interest from its fellow American car makers...

The Enspire is definitely one of the sharpest looking concepts we've seen from Buick. I'm not sure if they will actually be able to deliver on its estimated 370 miles of range, but who knows how the tech will have progressed before it comes to market.

Buick has been adding a lot of impressive new models to their lineup, including the new TourX. I'm a bit surprised to see them developing a fully electric SUV as I believe the only electric model that they've developed so far is the LaCrosse mild hybrid.

As little experience as they have with electrification, its not something than can afford to hold off on. There are so many new EV's coming to market in the next year or two, that the benchmarks are going to increase twofold.

Lucky for them Chrysler restored faith in the American public of greener premium products from domestic brands. Prior to the Pacifica everyone shopped with import brands.

The LaCrosse hybrid was found to be a fairly good EV, aside from some slower acceleration in the base model. Fuel economy is solid, though it gets pricey in the higher trim levels.

Put that powertrain into a Regal and i'm sold but in the LaCrosse it lacked character. Just being a Hybrid alone won't cut it these days.
